The Role
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Development, the Philanthropy Advisor will play an integral role in growing our base level donors, Sustainers, and Changemakers ($1-4,999). This new role presents an entrepreneurial candidate with an exciting opportunity to jumpstart their career in philanthropy by working alongside an experienced team of seasoned fundraisers and advisors. The candidate will use their skills to innovate and identify creative new ways to grow our monthly giving and peer-to-peer fundraising programs, and to work closely with our diverse Giving Circles.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of major donors to grow revenue from individuals giving $1,200-$4,999 annually, maintain meaningful relationships with philanthropists, DAF holders, emerging affluent and high net worth individuals
- Identify donor prospects from giving circles, DAF holders, events, and donors currently giving less than $1,200
- Lead the growth of the sustainer program ($0-$1199)
- Participate in Advancement department (LHF & DAF/GC events) events and communications, including Giving Circle, Major Donor and Planned Giving cultivation and stewardship efforts. Represent LHF at networking events
- Support stewardship efforts: new donor stewardship and Board Stewardship
- Support with acknowledgment letters
- Recurring donor stewardship
- Matching outreach to donors
- Support and engage Giving Circle chairs in the development and impact (grantmaking) of their Giving Circles through donor development, membership communications & cultivation, docket recommendations, and engagement in Liberty Hill’s home for progressive philanthropy
- Set up Giving Circles with JustGiving online fundraising campaigns, or alert Giving Circle chairs of new gifts to their funds and supply the needed tracking and reports from Raisers Edge
- Actively collaborate with Communications to promote Giving Circle events
Qualifications
- Education: BS/BA Degree or equivalent lived/professional experience
- Minimum of 3-5 Years of fundraising experience
- Proven ability to interact well with all levels of an organization and to maintain timely, constructive communications
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects, meet deadlines, problem-solve and multi-task
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Excellent technical skills, specifically in Office 365, Slack, Asana or other project management applications
- Entrepreneurial spirit
- Commitment to social and racial justice, equality, diversity and inclusion
- Personal lived experience that relates to the role and the mission of Liberty Hill (preferred)
Physical Demands:
- Ability to be at a remote workstation and operate a laptop/screen for extended periods
- Ability to travel for in-person meetings and events in Los Angeles County
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
Benefits
Starting Salary Range: ~ 70,000 – 90,000 DOE
Mostly remote with in-person meetings and events in Los Angeles County as required
