Membership and Outreach Officer, FADICA

Description

FADICA, a Catholic Philanthropy Network, seeks an independent and outcome-driven professional to expand the organization’s overall membership services, oversee the outreach program, and manage FADICA’s Catholic education initiative. The Membership and Outreach Officer will help expand FADICA’s membership by identifying potential members – philanthropists and foundations who are seeking a peer philanthropy network enhancing impact. The other key function of this role is to coordinate two Catholic education working groups, assist with program planning and outreach, liaise with national Catholic education leaders and donors, and contribute to the national field and dialogue. The Membership and Outreach Officer would be an integral part of the team that plans engagement programs for potential members and supports current members.

The ideal candidate has experience in Catholic education, program development, fundraising and member/donor relations. The candidate enjoys setting and achieving benchmarks, working independently and collaborating as a team, and is organized yet flexible. The Membership and Outreach Officer will play a critical role that will contribute to the organization’s impact regarding Catholic schools, Catholic philanthropy, and the Church as well as FADICA’s growth. FADICA members are among the most entrepreneurial, generous, and faith-driven funders, and many are particularly passionate about and leading in Catholic education. This position includes opportunities for professional development, delivering workshops, and professional networking.

Duties

Philanthropy and Membership Services
Collaborate with the Vice President, Philanthropy Services to:

  • Set annual membership goals
  • Identify prospective members utilizing available public and proprietary research to create at least 3-5 opportunities monthly to introduce FADICA to Catholic philanthropists who may qualify as prospective members.
  • Create content and coordinate communications to invite and interest prospective members in FADICA’s work and mission, including individual letters, emails, as well as newsletters, updates, social media, etc.
  • Collaborate with the President and VP to create and execute systems, programs and special events that attract prospective members.
  • Identify opportunities to retain members and deepen their membership experience, including providing insight to the President and team regarding programming, member benefits & services, etc.
  • Manage and regularly update prospective membership data, tracking and reporting, as well as the member data (Naylor, CC).
  • Identify, launch, and maintain a new membership and fundraising CRM.

Catholic Education

  • Develop and support programming for FADICA members on issues and best practices in Catholic education
  • Coordinate the FADICA working group on Catholic education and support the work of FADICA with the Catholic School Philanthropy Working Group (a donor member led group of members and non-members).
  • Assist with relationship building and promotion of key messaging with school and national leaders
  • Assist with the coordination of member services related to Catholic education and the broader membership community
  • Draft communications on topics and findings on key issues in Catholic education, in the spirit of FADICA’s recent research and for members as needed

Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES 

While no one candidate will embody all the qualifications enumerated below, the ideal candidate will possess many of the following professional abilities, attributes, and experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years of work experience in Catholic education and one of more of the following areas: development/fundraising, membership development, or sales.
  • Experience in a nonprofit, philanthropic or membership organization a plus.
  • Skilled at planning and executing programs (e.g., workshops, learning sessions, topical presentations)
  • Demonstrated success in managing projects with various types of tasks and involving multiple, diverse stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written communication skills in order to interact effectively with members and customers outside the organization.
  • Facility with Microsoft Office Suite, online research, and email communications.
  • An entrepreneurial mentality, self-starting work ethic, and a flexible resourcefulness.
  • Support for overall organizational strategic goals and commitment to furthering the mission of FADICA.
  • Comfort working within the Catholic faith tradition and a faith-based environment; understanding of or interest in the Catholic social tradition (CST).
  • Ability to travel to represent FADICA at periodic professional conferences, leadership meetings, member visits, and in the normal course of philanthropy services activities.

Benefits

This position pays $70,000 – $85,000, and FADICA offers a benefits package which includes medical, dental, vision, life/disability insurance, an excellent employer sponsored and matched 403(b) plan, and generous paid holidays, vacation, and sick time.

LOCATION: While the headquarters is in Washington, DC., this position can be conducted fully remote.
